Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies

These may just be the most perfect cookie! My absolute favorite flavor combination is salty and sweet. I am a total sucker for sea salt caramel and then when it is with chocolate, well, forget about it. There is nothing better!

Traditional Chocolate Chip cookies

I cannot get enough of traditional homemade chocolate chip cookies. I am not even much of a sweet tooth, as you may notice from the blog, there are a lot more savory dishes than sweet. I much prefer salty to sweet, even when it comes to snacks. However, my true weakness is cookies!!! I cannot pass up a good cookie with milk. It all started with my Oreo obsession and chocolate chips are a very close second to that. As I got older, I pretty much loved anything with chocolate and as the sea salt caramel craze came in, I was a fan for sure. My girls are little, so we bake cookies a lot because it is something that they can make with me and it is forgiving if something happens! Yet, I wanted to elevate our usual chocolate chip recipe and we have! Even the girls love these “grown up” chocolate chip cookies!

Salty and sweet

There is no better combination for me than salty and sweet. Since I tend to always lean salty, love the idea of having just that hint of sweetness to compliment the salty treats. I love potato chips and Oreos together. I love peanut butter and jelly, the old fashioned, ultimate salty, sweet combo. I have always been a huge caramel girl, so it is only natural that I would love sea salt caramel. Then when you add chocolate to it… well, that is it… I am all in! These cookies are the perfect mash up of salty and sweet and I could literally eat the whole batch, but I didn’t! I shared with family and friends!

This is a great recipe to make with the kids and it is even better to enjoy them together!
