Immune Boost Shots

I have actually been wanting to post these for some time now, but I thought with everything going on around us… there could NOT have been a better time. As most of you know, I am a working professional chef in the catering and restaurant world. I had the opportunity to create these amazing little wellness shots for a yoga event that we did here and then we used them again for a health and wellness event. These are great little shots that you can make either in large or small batches and you can drink them before or after your morning coffee. They will help provide you energy, immunity support, vitamins and minerals and overall good health.

The idea is not that you drink this as a whole smoothie, but a shot size portion should do the trick!

Wellness Shot

This is a great overall health and wellness shot. Plus Apple Cider Vinegar has so many amazing health qualities, you cannot go wrong with adding this into your shots. It also helps with appetite curbing.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 inches fresh ginger (peeled, chopped, pressed for juice using a garlic press)
  • 1/2 cup pineapple fresh or frozen, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients in a high intensity blender or put everything into a juicer. If you are juicing, you will not need to strain. If you are blending, strain out after you puree.

Notes

It is recommended that drinking at least 2 ounces of one shot a day, is beneficial. You can make extra and store in the frig for a few days out. Feel free to double the blender recipes if your blender needs more substance to blend.
*Drink the shots with a straw to protect teeth from enamel damage by ACV or lemon, and staining by turmeric and beetroot.
Lastly,  you can follow any shot with an orange or lime slice as a palate cleanser if the taste is too strong.

Immune Boost Shot

This shot is perfect if you are looking to give a little help to your immune system. Which I believe right now we can all use a little extra jolt in this area.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 2 lemons
  • 2- inch piece of ginger root
  • 2- inch piece of turmeric root

Instructions

  • Wash all the ingredients and peel them if they’re not organic or if you want a smoother consistency
  • Chop the ingredients and put everything through the juicer. You can also use a high intensity blender such a a Vitamix or Ninja. Blender until smooth and then strain.

Anti-inflammatory Shot

This shot is great as a homemade anti-inflammatory. It has a lot of the same ingredients as the immune boost, but the orange juice and cayenne give this one a little edge.

Ingredients

  • 2 oranges juiced
  • 2 lemons juiced
  • 1 inch piece fresh turmeric peeled
  • â…› teaspoon black pepper
  • â…› teaspoon cayenne

Instructions

  • Combine the orange juice, lemon juice, turmeric, pepper, and cayenne in a blender and blend until smooth. Strain after or use a juicer and than you do not need to strain.
  • Divide among 4 shot glasses.

I hope that you enjoy these and that they help give you all a little boost. Stay healthy and safe!
