Nutella Cookies
We are all trying to think of ways to keep busy and make our friends and family smile during this difficult time. A couple of weeks ago I wanted to make some cookies and have the girls make some pictures and we delivered them to some of our family. My oldest daughter had so much fun making the pictures and I had a blast really getting back in the kitchen and getting these cookies all done to go deliver them. I made two different types of Nutella cookies. I made Nutella stuffed chocolate chip cookies and I made Nutella filled sugar cookies. They are both super simple and super delicious. Everyone is still…

Sunday’s are for family and pasta
When I was growing up there were a few reasons I could tell Sunday’s from any other day. The first thing was that it was the one day out of the week that I could actually get to sleep in with no alarm. Which was great, but even better than that, was waking up to the smell of bacon cooking in the kitchen. Followed shortly by the wonderful aroma of sauteed garlic and onions. This is the start to the Sunday sauce. My Dad always called it Sunday gravy, which these days is controversial. That is what he knew and that is what we knew growing up. I don’t really care what you…

Here is the perfect one for a day that you have some time on your hands and there is a chill in the air! I love this recipe on a chilly day. It takes a little time, but who doe not have time now! Immune Boost Shots
I have actually been wanting to post these for some time now, but I thought with everything going on around us… there could NOT have been a better time. As most of you know, I am a working professional chef in the catering and restaurant world. I had the opportunity to create these amazing little wellness shots for a yoga event that we did here and then we used them again for a health and wellness event. These are great little shots that you can make either in large or small batches and you can drink them before or after your morning coffee. They will help provide you energy, immunity support, vitamins and…

Hot potato–not potato!
I talk to moms all the time and I am constantly asking them what is the biggest struggle with their kids eating habits. So many of them say that they wish they could get them to eat more veggies! Fruits tend to be more easily accepted by kids I feel like as they are naturally sweet and taste great to them! Although, I do know some kiddos that we need to try and sneak fruits in too… but we will talk about that in another post! For right now, let’s focus on the veggies. Let’s even narrow it down more than that… not all veggies, the potato!! Why the potato of all the…

Birthday Dinner for the Hubby
We are always looking for awesome restaurants that we can have amazing food at and the girls will have great choices to pick from too. We don’t just like going to your typical chain spots because we have the kiddos with us. Nothing against those spots, we all know they are great at times. Yet, we love getting out to places that we would go on a date night, but that the girls are welcomed too! Last year my sister in law told us about an awesome Italian style pizza place. My hubby is always on the look out for great wood fired pizzas and she gave us a fabulous recommendation that…

5 unique ways to have a family-friendly Valentine’s Day Dinner
Alright mamas, so we all know we are no longer in the days where the only most important thing we ha to worry about on Valentine’s Day is if your guy made a dinner reservation for you all. We are way passed that and in a whole different stage of our lives. In most ways, Valentine’s Day is probably just another day. However, I think this a great way to show your spouse or significant other that even though you are both busy and life just ends up happening, you still love them and you still want to celebrate that love as you did before you were married. Yes, this is a great…

Wintertime Fun
If you live in or around the mid-west, especially near Chicago, like we do… than you know that this is usually a snowy time of year. We have been very lucky this year with a pretty mild winter, yet when you have little ones anything under like 50 degrees is too cold to be spending a long amount of time outside. I try and get them out as much as possible, but it is definitely a lot more indoor activities this time of year. Every so often we get a day that is snowy, but not too cold and that day was today!! We got to get outside and have some fun in…

How to come back better and stronger than ever before!?!
Hey all my mama fans, I am back and better than ever! I am so excited to be back here with you all after a small hiatus from my blog and the world sort of!! I apologize about that, I was swamped with the holidays between working and being a mama… it just took over!! It was actually exactly then, while I was taking a small break that I realized, wait… no… this is the work!!! This is my focus, this is my calling, this is my passion and I missed it so much! It was then and in those moments that I knew, not only did I need to come back to…
