Homemade Pumkpin Spice
This has been the craze for the past few years thanks to the Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spiced latte. Now, I am not a big pumpkin fan, but I am a big pumpkin spice fan. As there is actually no pumpkin in it at all! It is just the spices that you would find in say pumpkin pie or pumpkin muffins. It is a great blend of spices and super simple to make. What can you put Pumpkin Spice in besides lattes? Pumpkin spice is great for making all of the following desserts and even drinks. It is not just for lattes, however, it is pretty good in them too! Lattes or into your coffee…

Summer Crostata
This recipe is simple and diverse. It can come together with many different combinations of fruits. Here are two of my favorite combos. I did them both with fresh peaches and plums. Then to one of them I added blueberries as well. This is a super simple recipe that can be made with many different fruits. These are my favorites for Summer. You can also semi-home make this with a store bought pie crust. Chef’s Tips- I like to melt my butter when I make the crumb topping. Some recipes call for you to cut in the butter, but I like the crumb that you get from the melted butter. I also…

St. Patty’s Day Ideas
We have never been big on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. However, I feel like when you have kids you celebrate every holiday and it is just way more fun! When we were younger it was all about a day to go out and have a little too much fun! Now it is about staying in and celebrating with the kids and family. When I was working in restaurants it was all about making sure we had the classic corned beef and cabbage plates. Of course with soda bread. Which, I kind of secretly love, but I love it the next morning toasted with creamy melted butter. Now we will be making the classic…

M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies
Saturday all day, my oldest was asking me to make cookies. I said, “I don’t know if I have anything to make cookies?” She looked at the counter and saw a jar of M&M’s and said, “Yes, we do! We have M&M’s!” Well, I couldn’t say no after that. I checked the cabinets and we had everything else we needed to make cookies. We even had about a half a bag of chocolate chips to throw in with the M&M’s. I pulled out the butter and softened it in the microwave for about 10 second intervals, twice, I think I put it on. We were ready to go! Soft cookies vs Crunchy cookies…

We are always looking for new fun ways to use Nutella in our house. I mean, we are Italian! We also use the Nutella from Italy which is slightly different. I mean, the chocolate chips just were not enough! Making banana bread or zucchini bread or cranberry orange bread… any kind of sweet bread is a great project to get the kiddos involved in. Homemade Hot Cocoa Bombs
Ok, so there seems to be a new trend popping up every month. Mainly I believe due to Tik Tok, but also as more and more people are home and cooking a lot more! I think it is great and these are always so fun to try. Some are better than others, but I think that hot cocoa bombs are fun and delish! A little on on the rich side, but yummy chocolaty goodness is never a bad thing in my opinion. Now, I think that many people would rather purchase an item like this than make it. Just for the sheer fact that chocolate can be tricky, who has the time and…

Apple Slices
I grew up eating apple slices at almost every major holiday event thanks to my aunt Pam. She always baked these from scratch and they were always on the dessert table. I remember the flaky crust and gooey, apple filling. The warm spices and the sweet glaze. The best thing about food is that it creates memories that you never forget. You can smell something or eat something and be transported in time. Why I love food and family so much! When I was thinking of what to do with all of the apples we picked at the orchard, my aunt Dawn and I got to talking about apple slices. I thought, “Yes,…
